Perfect Sunday Evening

Ella and Sophie played outside until dark. They rode trikes, and played "Mystery Island" (I'm not sure what that is or where it came from) while I grilled ugly steaks. We ate dinner on the back porch and enjoyed the beautiful, not too warm, not too cold, November weather. Sophie pointed out every bird and airplane she saw, in between bites/handfuls of acorn squash. Then we watched "The Sword and the Stone," and Sophie pointed out the birds. It was a great way to end a great weekend.

Today I decided to do something productive and unclog my sink. I was tired of it taking 3 minutes to drain every time I brushed my teeth...

All I have to say is that I have now added plumber to my list of careers that are clearly not for me.

Also on the list:

Dog Walker

Life Guard

Pig Farmer

Weekend in Review

My weekend involved...
  • 2 adorable trick-or-treating little girls.
  • 2 movies
  • 2 pecan pies.
  • 2 bike rides= tired legs.
  • 2 hair cuts.
  • 2% milk from a 24 hour convenience store 5 miles away, because Jacob didn't have any milk for his nightly midnight snack (cheerios & granola), and nothing's open past midnight in our neck of the desert.
  • 1 hour taking photos on the U of A campus with 1 of my favorite families.
  • the fruit on our 2 citrus trees is starting to turn orange.
  • 2 hours (minus an hour for us 'cause we were late, in true dilly-dahle style) of stake conference.

Sophie's First Haircut

I also managed to get Ella to let me cut her hair. It's taken me about a month to convince her that even princesses with long hair need a haircut once in a while. She made me promise to only cut a little bit.

Fun Pictures

I got to practice taking pictures of someone else's family this morning. I had a great time! I hope they had fun too.
